I added support for the D programming language over a year ago, and A-A-P 
worked wonderfully for me. When trying to get others in the D community to 
use it, they either said that they already used Scons (support for D were 
implemented there at the same time, but by a more prominent person in the 
community), or that the Python-dependency was to large to build simple D 
programs (D is a system language).

After that I haven't used D much (for other reasons), and thus the D support 
might not work as expected any more. Also, a very fast, D specific build tool 
has surfaced, and no new users seems to be interested in A-A-P for D :( When 
I get back to D, I'll look into things and decide what to do next, hopefully 
this year (D is very promising as a real replacement for C/C++/C# and Java 
(Java at least in some respects)).
