This is impossible in DocBook (at the moment) to my knowledge, the
reason, I guess,  being that it has to do with layout, not content
basically.  As DocBook's purpose is to deal with the layout, not allow
the user to do it.  I agree however, that adding a line break has its
merits ;-).  I've been looking for this myself.
