One of the tricky parts is interval calculations
when dealing with DST transitions, and leap
second handling(*), and the need to deal with
timezone files that may have changed in the
long haul.

99.999% of the time one may not care (a lot)
about such things, but they are a PITA to test
for, and are critical for some of the people some
of the time.

There is a reason DataTime is very slow and
complicated (for they try very hard to get it
right).

(*) For example, does your code properly handle
second 60 (which is the 61st second in the minute)
in the cases where it applies (and only when it
applies)?

Good luck.
