It should only be a couple of days for my replacement Mac. I literally bought the now-failed MacBook Pro 10 years ago. I more than got my money’s worth out of it! MacPorts uses GitHub's CI for testing pull requests and has a fleet of buildbots that serve to test builds on Mac OS versions from 10.6 through 11.x. The successful builds from the buildbots are also passed through to be served as binary packages (where licensing permits). I believe Apple donated the hardware for the buildbots. There is a volunteer network of mirrors for the distfiles and binary packages. All set up long before I got involved.
