I have included a few sample descriptions with variations below.

I am trying to come up with some regular expressions to aid in solving
this problem but I am getting nowhere fast.  I can match parts but
have no idea on how to bring it all together and to get the expression
to match all possibilities or whether you need to create a regular
expression for each description variation.  Going to keep trying to
think of a way (got a few more ideas I want to try) in an attempt to
get more familiar with regular expressions.

I was thinking of sub-title, categories and episode number information
could all have appropriate XMLTV elements added and then removed from
the description (http://wiki.xmltv.org/index.php/XMLTVFormat).

Tidying the description text and adding sub-title should make
duplicate matching much more reliable.
