If the data is available, I believe the grabber populates
the role into the xml (I know at least mine does).

Not all programs have that data, of course. And not
all grabbers have ever populated it.

In this particular case, this appears to be an artifact
that the information returned for an EPisode does
not have that data, but the associated generic
SHow does (EPisode and SHow program types are
internal terms). There may be some ways to address
the lack of detail provided in schedules that point to
EPisodes, but as discussed elsewhere there are some
issues with trying to combine data with no currency
checking available in the source data.

In my list of things to do (which I tend not to get to
quickly) is to open discussion on the Schedules Direct
forum asking how they wish to address this in the
source data. Pulling ~50,000 generic entries every
grab is not optimal (and goes against their intended
usage of apps caching data), and returning stale/bad
data because there is no way to validate that the
the data has been modified is not appealing either.

So, there is some hope, but it is likely going to
take a bit of time to fix this correctly.
