About two years ago when I discovered that there was an official 3.41, I co=
mpared it against the official 3.40, and I believe that I have all of the c=
hanges in my 3.43.0. I suspect that some of the official 3.41 changes were =
based on my changes because unused

e versions. I am sure there is nothing new in it. I do remember=
fiddling with it a few years ago to get rid of
stupid compiler warnings; replacing sprintf with snprintf and stuff like t=
hat. Probably just the same stuff that others have been doing. =
I'm not claiming that it is better or more official than anyone else's vers=

Valid lout input should produce the same output from recent versions of the=
official lout as from my version, with the exception that my version write=
s more decimal places when positioning objects, which fixes issues with log=
os having incorrect sizes. Also,
some valid lout files that crash or display incorrectly with the official =
lout work correctly in my version, and some invalid lout files that crash t=
he official lout do not crash my version. (Most of those might have been fi=
xed in the official 3.41.) My version
resolves all gcc and clang compile warnings. My version also has makefile =
updates from distribution maintainers to simplify building rpms. I think th=
at all of those changes are fairly non-controversial and could not have bee=
n made in a significantly different
way. Maybe someday all of the lout forks can be unified.</div>
