missing expected branch

I tried posting this once but it didn't work out. So, here I go again.... This is how I messed up. :( I added a branch tag to a file. Immediately, by accident, I deleted the branch tag from the same file. Then, I used cvs admin -o to delete the file revision created by that branch tag Now when I try to update my local copy with the branch, I get an error "cvs [update aborted]: missing expected branch" If I try to do a fresh checkout of the branch, I get the same error.
