changing CVSROOT

Jerzy,
one of the big problems/gotchas - at least in MacCvs - is changing cvs
root, or peculiarities when switching between repositories.
It kind of works when I switch to another sandbox, but when I want to
check out from a different server, this is _very_ confusing.
Part of this problem may be MacCvs specific - I don't know, since I
haven't had a chance to try the latest WinCvs builds yet - but in
general the problems are:
- the protocol is never being changed. When it was :pserver: before,
it's gonna stick with :pserver:, even if I switch to a :ext: CVSROOT
using the previous CVSROOT menu
- it's very awkward you have to go to the global prefs panel to change
the CVSROOT when all I want to do is checkout from a different server.
Other cvs apps allow to specify 'profiles' or whatever you'd call them
and allow to choose from those when doing a checkout. I seem to
remember that WinCvs allows to change CVSROOT for those commands, too?
- sometimes switching to another sandbox also doesn't switch the CVSROOT
How much of those problems are cross platform and which seem to be
MacCvs specific?
Also, I've seen your posts about the new CVSROOT wizard - does this
influence these problems?
(I just wanted to know whether major changes are on the way before
tackling this problem in MacCvs...)
Thanks,
</jum>
