Furthermore, it gives you the chance *not* to diff certain files at all because they might be binary and you don't have a fitting specialized differ for them... > Good that you've mentioned the commit dialog, one would have to add > the directories affected by the commit to the dropdown and do a > module-wise diff for those on pressing the "Diff..." button. You mean if one selected multiple directories? In that case you currently couldn't commit at all (command is disabled)... Otherwise I don't see why you should have to list directories for selection. Or did you only want to do non-recursive module diffs? > Anyway, I miss a button like "Diff all" (or a dropdown item > like "<all>") in the commit dialog. Must be because I never used Araxis and don't know how it presents this or maybe simply because I dislike MDI in general. At least my gut feeling is telling me that in WinMerge I wouldn't find a huge stack of MDI diff windows terribly useful. I also always diff before I commit but I prefer to diff one file at a time (and in the order I choose)... Well, to each his own I guess... and anyway, maybe I do like it once it's there. ;) So, as far as I'm concerned, I say: go ahead, hack away! ;) As you said, we could always add the preview dialog later.
