Well, they can surely copy-paste CVSROOT from Source Forge help pages 
when connecting to SF for example. In fact that was the idea when I 
decided to scrap previous implementation of CVSROOT and use just a 
string. The possibility to have something automatic like "cvs info" + 
wizard was an extra bonus that made the change a really good one.

I was kinda hoping that CVSNT will be "fixed" after initial complains 
so that WinCvs can work nicely with CVSNT. I think it hurts CVS and 
CVSNT if new people have troubles using it at the beginning. Many will 
just try and when instructions don't work will just try another 
version control tool. I hope Tony takes this into consideration when 
making breaking changes and stop doing them.

If wizard will stop working and we start getting lots of complains I 
will just take it out. I don't have time to play catch-up with CVSNT 
or to compensate for breaking changes of this nature.

That should not matter too much - I hope that new CVSNT servers will 
work with old clients in general and 2.0.51d in particular for a long 
time to come. You should be able to upgrade the server regardless of 
the client.

This sounds like a dirty hack to me.
