New user-problems with diff

Hello Friends,
I have wincvs 2.0.2.4(build 4). I am a new user. I tried looking for 
a similar problem in this forum but couldn't find it. Hence posting 
the question.

I just installed cvsnt and wincvs. I was successfully able to import 
the project. I was able to check it out as well. But after that I am 
getting the following error when I try to do a diff for any file:

cvs -z9 -q diff -- Utility.vb (in directory C:\OweTracker\)
cvs diff: in directory .:
cvs diff: ignoring CVS/Root because it specifies a non-existent 
repository /Projects
cvs diff: No CVSROOT specified!  Please use the `-d' option
cvs [diff aborted]: or set the CVSROOT environment variable.

***** CVS exited normally with code 1 *****
