wincvs will not start

Wincvs hangs when I start it. For some odd reason it seems to be
going through every damn file on my system. HD is chugging away, and
filemon says it is doing a query on all files on my D drive. Anyway
to stop this? I have uninstalled/reinstalled.... use 2.0.2.4 and
2.0.9 and they both behave the same??? Any ideas?
