WinCVS Installation Usage Question

We have installed CVS 1.11.22 on RedHat Linux and would like our users to use WinCVS client via pserver method to connect.
 
Does WinCVS require CVSNT or is it a stand-alone client?  If so, what would cvsnt do to the files on the linux server.
