Doubt regarding checking out

Hi Guys

I have installed cvs trial version studio 2.5.04.33236

I have a doubt regarding check out.

1)I am bit confused between wincvs and tortoise cvs, cvs suite studio.
which is really infact is used as the client.

2)Secondly for checking out can i directly right click from the middle panel
any file located in cvs repository and choose the check out option when i
choose that I get the following error (screen shot attached)

3) How to perform the same operation using wincvs?
