And what is the CVSROOT?  There is nothing secret about it - you can
share it - it doesn't include you passoword or anything...   Your
CVSROOT should look like this:
  :sspi:hostname:/reponame

Or
  :pserver:user@hostname:/reponame

Or

  :sserver:user@hostname:port:/reponame

The repository name should always begin with a '/' (though older
versions of CVSNT did permit g:/blah has a repository name it was never
a good idea and one of the many many reasons for using a repository
alias).

Is there also an environment variable called CVSROOT defined on the
'new' machine?
