Password prompt isn't opening

We are connecting to CVSNT 2.5.04 server from a number of computers. All are running TortoiseCVS 1.10.10 and connect using pserver. All of the computers can login to a new repository from command line, but a couple of them won't open the password prompt when trying to connect to the new repository. Therefore, they can't connect. All of the computers are running Win XP pro SP2 or SP3. Is there any way we can either enter the password without the prompt, or force the prompt to open?
