Hello, The somegeneratedtmpfileordirname file is just a temporary text file containing a list of filenames (1 full pathname on each line) for which you want to run the command. So for example: TortoiseAct.exe CVSHistory -f "c:\windows\temp\filelistcontainingonefilename.txt" will give you the history of the filename mentioned in the .txt file. The .txt file will be deleted immediately after reading by tortoiseAct. ps.: I don't think manually calling tortoiseAct manually (not from the shell extention) is officially `supported', but I have been doing it all the time for about 4 years without ever running into problems ;-) Kind Regards, JAN KEIRSE ICT-DEPARTMENT Software quality & Systems: Software Engineer Siva Jayaraman <[email protected]> 30/04/2009 10:49 Aan tortoisecvs-users-5NWGOfrQmneRv+LV9MX5uipxlwaOVQ5f@public.gmane.org Cc Onderwerp [TortoiseCVS] CVS History I am using TortoiseCVS 1.8.32 on Windows XP. I use the CVS History dialog frequently. Right Click on the file in explorer -> CVS History ... And it shows the History Dialog. It seems to be done by first running cvs log -f filename & then Invoking TortoiceAct.exe and command line for this option looks like TortoiseAct -f somegeneratedtmpfileordirname -h 0xhandle I tried opening somegeneratedtmpfileordirname but it didn't exist (even when the history dialog was active). the handle seems to be handle of the explorer window. I tried all other combinations of command line - but I am not able to get the History Window without going through Explorer. Can someone suggest a way of doing this - multiple steps are fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Register Now & Save for Velocity, the Web Performance & Operations Conference from O'Reilly Media.
