FWIW, on my system the standard information that you see in the hint and the status bar is gone, even in directories that are not listed as CVS-controlled. (BTW, I use the "Included folders" field in the Advanced tab of the Preferences dialog. Maybe try this.) But I see the CVS info in hint and status bar for files that are CVS controlled. (BTW, you sent the email to my address rather than the list address. Given the last question, it seemed to me you meant to send it to the list.)
