Hi Howard, What operating system are you using? Full name including which service pack (eg: Windows XP x64 SP3) What TortoiseCVS version are you installing? Full name including the name of the install file (eg: TortoiseCVS-1.12.2.exe) CVS Suite 2009 trial also includes TortoiseCVS, you can try that as an alternative if you like. http://www.cvsnt.org/ Note: the latest TortoiseCVS is 1.12.2 - for questions on this mailing list please always use the latest version.
