Hi Matthew / Gordo / Torsten,

I'm considering doing a new build of the CVSNT installer that automatically either uninstalls or displays a 'conflict warning' when there are older CVSNT's already installed. Something like:

CVSNT 2.0.x -- non-MSI install - UNINSTALL
CVSNT 2.5.x -- MSI install (eg: TortoiseCVS 1.10) - UNINSTALL (note: this is current behaviour)
CVS Suite / Trial - MSI install - 'conflict warning'
WinCVS with CVSNT 2.0.51 - non-MSI install - ?????

This would solve a lot of problems for our customers (who sometimes accidentally install both TortoiseCVS and CVS Suite which incldues our own build of TortoiseCVS) as well as problems for people who have the trial installed and people who have 'older' versions installed...

Tortsten would need to update the TCVS installer to incldue a new CVSNT installer with these changes. I'm not aware of any serious bugs in CVSNT 2.5.05 itself that need addressing, so the version/build would be UNCHANGED - just a new installer to deal with these issues.

Is this a good idea? I'm quite happy to not do it if there is no need for it...

Regards,

Arthur Barrett

	gordo-

I had a similar problem that was caused by multiple, conflicting versions of CVSNT having been installed.

I suggest (1) uninstall tortoiseCVS, (2) uninstall all versions of CVSNT, (3) reinstall tortoiseCVS 1.12.3

	Just upgraded to 1.12.3.

	When I do a right-click à CVS àAbout,

	The window that opens Says:  it is TortoiseCVS UNSTABLE version 1.12.3; CVS client version: [unknown];

It also makes the breaking glass sound, that I have come to recognize as indicating an ERROR!

	1) The web site indicates this was a STABLE version! (I would NEVER have upgraded if I had known it was UNSTABLE!

	2) Does the breaking glass sound indicate anything.... Like the upgrade didn't complete correctly....

Do I need to DO SOMETHING?

What is the LATEST Stable Version?

How can I find a download? (I tried going through SourceForge, but no download ever started.)

	Any help appreciated,

	Gordo
