Trying to move local repositories from XP to new Win 7 machine

Hi.
 
I’ve been
using Tortoise CVS for several years on WinXP, mostly working with local
repositories.  I’ve moved all the local
repositories to a new Windows 7 Pro x64 machine and want to access them via Tortoise
CVS, but can’t seem to set it up correctly.
 
I’m running Tortoise CVS 1.12.5 and CVSNT
2.5.05.  The repositories
are all in the same locations as they were on the old computer, as are all the modules.  I can create new modules, but I’m not sure
how to let Tortoise know about the old repositories.  I don't see anything in the Preferences dialog, for instance.  

If I right-click a file in one of the old modules and select CVS Diff, I get this error:

cvs [checkout aborted]: Couldn't open default trigger library: No such file or directory


If I try to make a new module and point to an existing local repository, I get the same error. 


I see the cvslock.exe process running, and there's a CVSNT Lock Server item in the system tray (with no icon).


On some webpages
I came across, I saw a discussion about not using :local: repositories, and using
:sspi: instead.  Is there some way to
convert a :local: repository to :sspi:?
