ViewVC's use of the database backend is at this point still very tangential. ViewVC only consults the database when answering direct queries aimed at the database via the query view. I'd like to see that change, with the database providing acting as a more powerful and flexible cache of information that is a bummer to calculate on-the-fly, but not so harsh to calculate once at post-commit time (like FishEye does). -- C.
