Which version of ViewVC are you using?  Are these CVS repositories that you
are viewing, or Subversion ones?  Are the modules you are trying to hide
top-level directories of the repository in which they live?

It wouldn't hurt to try.  (I can't answer yes or no because I don't know the
details of your configuration.)
