Coe, your question seems to be primarily related to the behavior of your CVS
server.  Unfortunately, you've contacted the mailing list of the ViewVC
software project.  This is a common mistake -- by default, our mailing list
appears at the bottom of what you may have come to think of as "the CVS
server display" because ViewVC is the software most folks use to allow
examination of their CVS repository contents via a web browser.  We are
ultimately, however, not a core part of that CVS version control instance,
and are therefore not the best folks to field your question.

If you are using stock open-source CVS on your server, you might want to
consult the folks on the opposite ends of one of the mailing lists found
here:  http://savannah.nongnu.org/mail/?group=cvs

If, on the other hand, you are using CVSNT (which is a popular proprietary
replacement for CVS), you might be able to find the help you need at
http://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/pro.htm .
