Jason, I'm not sure exactly which commands you are referring to.  ViewVC
executes only a select set of commands, and those primarily only to harvest
version control information.  The likes of "co" and "rlog" (from the RCS
toolchain) are run.  GNU diff is run at times, too.  But not a whole lot more.

What commands do you think it is executing?  What do you mean by "commands
related to inventory"?  Are you perhaps using Rancid and mistakenly
confusing its operations with those of the ViewVC browser that it packages?
