Thanks, but I can't build from that repository.  Here's
what I tried, after checking out a fresh copy, and checking
a fresh copy of gnulib into ../gnulib:

$ PATH=$PWD/../gnulib:$PATH bash ./autogen.sh
+ '[' -d lib ']'
+ act=import
+ gnulib-tool --import
gnulib-tool: cowardly refusing to erase the module list.
The meaning of the option '--import' has changed.

For updating to a newer version of gnulib, use
  gnulib-tool --add-import
For restoring files that were omitted from version control, use
  gnulib-tool --update
