Please forgive the Perl mainainers there; the CPAN launch process has 
always been a wart, but at least it's a cross-platform wart. If you 
install CPAN from CPAN (upgrading over the builtin one), you get the 
shiny little "cpan" command, but many--probably most by a long 
margin--never need/want/know to do that.

In what package(s)? Once CPAN gets all of VCP's prerequisites 
installed, you can ignore VCP-on-CPAN's problems and get the current 
from the Perforce depot.

Thanks, and sorry for the problems. Installation of prerequisites, 
especially off-Unix (and even more especially on Win32) is such a 
problem for larger Perl applications, and VCP's not making it easier 
for you.
