Branch Properties

I have branched a folder.
The Branched folder does not show any file or folder statistics for its self on the general tab of the properties window.
 
It says:
 
Contains:
   0 Files
   0 Folders
   Tree Size: 8.77 mb
   Dis Space Needed: 17.55 mb
 
Why are there no statistics for the branched folder?
 
The parent folder statistics don't show the folder in the branched statistics either.
