Get latest by date

Don't have Vault installed so I can't check this out, but SourceSafe does 
not have this capability so the question is...

I check files in periodically, say every couple of days, but I don't label 
each check-in. Is there a way to "Get the latest version of a project as of 
a specific date"  I.E.  I need the state of the project as it was on 1/14/04.

Yes each file could be looked at individually to do this but if there are 
lots of files involved, eventually the wrong version would be grabbed.
