Best practice is to simply install 2.x over 1.x,
allowing it to perform the upgrade.

I do not think the install requires a reboot,
but I cannot say for certain. I'm no expert
in MSI, but it is my understanding that there
is a rather complicated set of rules for
determining whether the machine needs to be
rebooted or not. I don't think our installer
usually asks for a reboot, but if the issue is
really critical, I would wait for a weekend.

Subject: [vault-list] Vault 2.0 install question

Due to the workload on the server which vault is installed on, we are only
able to reboot the server on weekends (else alot of unhappy users). When
installing Vault 2.0, does it require a reboot? What is best practice for
installing with a major upgrade (from 1.x to 2.x)?
