regarding the upgrade path...  we wouldn't be that cruel, would we?   seriously, the installation of vault 2.0 is cumulative.  just install the vault 2.0 server, and it will upgrade any pre-existing vault installation to the latest and greatest code base.

i'm not sure if there's anything to be afraid of.  just make sure you have a verified, GOOD backup of your vault sql server database before upgrading.  if you happen to hit a snafu, let us know.  we're here to help.
