My colleagues and I are looking at options for our migration from CVS to SVN. We have a Solaris machine hosting CVS now. We need to
Migrate to a Linux machine. The only machine available to test on is a Windows XP machine.
One idea proposed was to copy the CVS repository from Solaris to Windows XP (file copy), and then use Cygwin tools to execute the cvs2svn command.
Assuming we have binary and text files will this work from Solaris to WinXP as a direct file copy cause problems due
platform binary file representations? Is this a recommended approach?
