Minimum part of CVS repo needed to convert a single module?

Basically the subject says it all. It seems that all you need is
CVSROOT and the module.

I would also like to know exactly which files from CVSROOT are needed
- the repo I am working with is very cluttered, and I'd like to copy
only those files I absolutely need for the cvs2git conversion.
