cvs2git: a specific git branch is not same as an equivalent cvs branch

The git master branch seemed to be the same as the cvs head branch (there were some CVS commits after I did the conversion from the cvs to the git). But when I check out some git branch and compared it to the equivalent cvs branch they are not same. When I run the "gitk --all" it looks ok, but of course it is so difficult to use I can't be sure. My projects are quite big in size.
