Shasi,

this is in fact a feature. Refreshing the project tree (which is needed to
see new projects in SOS, as you have already found out) is a slow operation,
and SourceGear have decided against doing this automatically.

While we are at it: In my eyes, there should be an option in the SOS client
that allows one to "Do an automatic Refresh Project Tree on each connect to
server" if one is willing to spend the extra time. Or, even better, have the
SOS server monitor the VSS database for changes in the project tree (which
shouldn't be to difficult, for instance by evaluating the journal.txt) and
notify SOS clients that an update is required.

Betreff: [SOS-LIST] Refresh

Hi

I am using Source Offsite 3.5.2 and when I add a new directory using Visual
Source safe to an existing
project I don't seem to see in source offsite when bring up source offsite.
I have to refresh the project tree in order to see the newly added
directory. Is there a way I can automate this.

I have tried going into source offsite option menu->view> and checking
refresh project file list every 1 minute,
it didn't help.

Can anyone has answer to this issue or is it an existing bug.

thanks in advance
shashi
