The panel (we call them poly's or faces) are not
bleeding through. You have a group of vertices on the
outer surface that are assigned to materials index 1
the red color. Hit f9 to get to editing, then hit tab
to go into edit mode. Hit a to select then deselect
all vertices.Under links and materials you'll see a
panel with the material indexes and a group of buttons
to select, deselect, assign etc. if you click the
index button to index one the red material and then
hit select you'll see the problem.
