Wowowow, don't assume the worst too quickly. I've been using my laptop with blender for 2 years, and if I can tell you something, it's that the laptop's hardware isn't always the only issue. In fact, most laptop users find that linux will work better with blender than windows, mostly because of driver issues. Might be a little bias on my part, but blender on gentoo on my HP ze4400 is as smooth as it should be, as long as I run gentoo. I tried booting it on windows, and it was SOOOO annoyingly choppy and unuseable. If you're looking to buy a laptop to use blender on, then look for a linux compatible laptop, and do the smart thing: use the formula that: "Just works"(TM)! No seriously though, windows is known to have driver issues with blender on most laptops, yet linux runs it fine. It all boils down to what you're wanting to do other than blender...
