I joined months ago, to learn how to use blender, but I have two small children so I have no time to learn.  BUT, I am a member, and I do own another group on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

My advice is to promote some people to moderators and have them help run the group.  I did that with my DCC group and it helps spread the responsibility out so it's not so much of a drag.  Otherwise, I would have done the same thing as you are contemplating now.

group "die" could perhaps be to organize "activity" in it to say, 

Saturday´s... ? or any one day a week? Once a fortnight? On the other 

hand, there´s a J. Bond movie titled "Live and let die", so death of 

a group perhaps sometimes is inevitable.. .?
