For clothing, one of the thingse you can do is make a copy of the body part, enlarge it slightly, trim it, such as trim the arm to have short sleeves, then adjust the clothing model to have creases remenisant of the real thing.  I'm sure there are other ways of making clothing, but I found this to be the easiest :)
