Hair

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has some suggestions...  I am trying to model
a muppet head with yarn type hair.  I'd like to animate it but I am
running into some stumbling blocks...

There is dynamic hair, but of the tutorials I've seen the hair strand
is too fine. I tried an experiment with dynamic cloth thinking that I
could create a cylinder and through weight paint have something that
reacts like hair but I ended up with a cloth tube. (DUH)

Any tips?
