Every toolkit was considered. FLTK was chosen.

CinePaint has always embraced GUI changes. (Adding pulldown menus so 
users don't have to right-click was a CinePaint feature that GIMP 
hackers used to criticize.) CinePaint doesn't need to look like 
Photoshop. Where it makes sense I'm for having it feel like Photoshop.

Anyone can offer to help on CinePaint. It's not like CinePaint is a 
secret, that people can't find us. What software the GIMPshop developer 
prefers to work on seems clear from the name.

Developers who embrace GIMP are often quite unpleasant when asked 
anything about CinePaint. We're going a different direction then they 
are and have a very different vibe. It's fine that the people who like 
GIMP stay there. We don't need that kind of help.

I want Glasgow image tabs because I like to compare different 
compression settings on identical images. That only works if the images 
are aligned. Doing that in the flipbook isn't as convenient.
