Rather than discuss project management in a post about CM, I'm following 
up on your other points as separate posts.

Building from CVS. No Oyranos. You may not be seeing the error dialog 
because you build with the Oyranos. I'm working toward a Linux package 
release and can't include unpackaged 3rd-party libs. Distros expect 3rd 
party libs to be packaged separately. Speaking of...

What's your status with packaging Oyranos for Debian and other distros? 
   Do you need help with that?
