You seem to be missing many development packages, did you check the
script I have sent you off-list?
It shows, which dependencies are needed for Ubuntu 8.04 to compile
current development version of CinePaint. I assume that for the 0.22-1
version it will be the same. (You can skip automake, libtool, cvs; but
it does no harm if you install them, too.)
