[CinePaint] glasgow doesn't seem to work

Hello,
I installed the latest release of glasgow on my xp x64. But i am pretty stuck- somehow i must doing something wrong, because nothing seems to work. I basically need to paint/edit textures with the software- 16 bit from Zbrush or for Zbrush. But: 1.I can't edit any paintbrush profile- clicking on "edit" or "new brush" has no effect
2. I can't draw nothing on canvas with any of the tools- paintbrush, airbrush in any mode-blur, color etc.- which tool will give the same message in the background window "SetCurrentDoc changed" but nothing happened actually.
3. the only thing i can do is to blur an image
What should I do?
