Meanwhile, I succeeded in compiling FLTK, but during
./configure of CinePaint I got an error message saying
that 'fltk-config' couldn't be found. Do I need to add the
directory to 'PKG_CONFIG_PATH'? (I already added
the 'fltk' directory to $PATH.)

And do I need Gutenprint? I don't intend to print from
my PC; printing out my photographs will most likely be
done by a photo lab. I'm going to install 'lcms' as well,
though, since I have to admit that I'm not that knowledgeable
about color management, yet, but am determined to
learn more about it.
