Yes I know about the OGRE forums, I've read some of the posts already but I
really can't accept the explanation that OGRE should be THAT very special
and advanced so that only DECENT gfx can run with it. I think it's like
shooting oneself in the foot :) Besides, I think it's a plain old bug and
nothing else.

According to the Ogre Wiki's only two vendors are supported to work, nvidia
and ATI (some ATI cards, perhaps not all).

At least in nvidias case, I think (I'm rather certain) that both GL/gl.h and
libGL.so is replaced by non mesa high-end files.

Since buying a new laptop just to be able to use OGRE is not an option, I'm
making an effort (in the form of a simple source-level GL API debugger) to
see if there could be any relevance in the claims about the GL driver
implementation being either outdated or the drivers being buggy.
