I have a Dell Latitude 120L laptop rurnning ubuntu edgy (kernel 2.6.17_10) and I was trying to fix a problem in my 3d acceleration: I had "direct rendering:yes" but many messages like "Warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b" when trying to run some applications, which get really slow . I was actually trying to get rid of those messages and I followed the instructions from this web site: http://www.vivaolinux.com.br/dicas/verDica.php?codigo=7046 the install of the common package was ok, but the i915 was not installed and returned the message: "ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules. Installation will be aborted. See the dri.log file for information on what went wrong." and now, when I run glxinfo | grep "direct rendering" I get direct rendering:No so, I want to return my sistem to tha state before running the install.sh of the common-20060403-linux.i386 package. Can anyone help me with that? Is there any "uninstall" command I can use? moreover, does anyone knows a way to get rid of those anoying warning messages? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
