This is not the case here, I believe. I've been to busy to setup 3d
desktop, but a year ago, I ran luminocity. At that time I had a
composite desktop with wobbly windows and all and it was decent
performance.

It does work slow now, when I run compiz, but I think I should be able
to at least get it running without being too slow. I will buy a new
AMD card pretty soon, since now newer cards are starting to work,
thanks to the spec release.
