Dvd::Rip and transcode for ipod nano video conversion

Hello everybody,

is it possible to convert a DVD read by Dvd::Rip to a video file
readable by the ipod nano?  I have not found many details only about
the exact format used except that it is MPEG4 H264, but does that
already define a container format?

Has anyone of you used Dvd::Rip for that purpose and can report the
exact output file format settings used?
(Also, a list of transcode command line flags would be great, if you have one)
